.THE CENTRE COUNTY FUEL BANK, managed by Interfaith Human Services, is a cooperative effort of county agencies, organizations and vendors who seek to provide emergency heating assistance to eligible low-income households in Centre County.
The fuel bank will open on January 4, 2016 and will close on March 31, 2016. The amount of assistance available to each eligible household is significantly impacted by the level of donations received, number of requests, price of heating products and the State of Pennsylvania's budgeted funds allocated to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP.)
Households seeking assistance through the Centre Count Fuel Bank must first apply for LIHEAP through the County Assistance Office and USE any LIHEAP funds prior to receiving Fuel Bank assistance.
The Fuel Bank provides assistance to Centre County, Pennsylvania residents only, who use coal, wood, wood pellets and propane to heat their homes. Centre County residents who DO NOT live in one of the areas listed below and who meet eligibility requirements may also apply for assistance for fuel oil.
The location listed below are served by the PHARE program for FUEL OIL ONLY. All other areas and all other heating products are served by the Fuel Bank.
